    As far as I like?

The original Nosferatu (1922) film is quite nice. If even features great (for its time) special effects
when the vampire is destroyed. Nice acting too. The vampire was golden.

Birth of a Nation (1915) is a bit of a weird thing. It is shameless KKK propaganda but I laughted my ass
off all through the second part of the film. "And then the mighty knights of the KKK gave the black man a
fair trial. GUILTY!" -> [Next scene shows the black man nailed to a wooden door]

The classics from Keaton and Roscoe are awesome. I d say they are better than Chaplin ones, even if
Chaplin was a better actor overall. My Wife's Relations was quite funny and I have fond memories of The
    Goat.

Speaking of Chaplin, The Great Dictator is a Masterpiece and everybody should watch it.

Fast forward, 12 Angry Men (1957) is a great sample of how a good film can be made with ust a room and a
bunch of good actors, a simple script and a good director.

Fast forward, Dragonheart (1996) is one of the best fantasy films with an original script ever made, in
hard contest with Willow for the first position.

Fast forward, Upgrade (2018) is the last great film ever made. It is a science-fiction thriller in which
a tetraplegic receives a computer implant and allows him to function as a normal person again, and
embarks in a revenge crusade to crush the people who murdered his wife and ruined his life. A deep dive
into the implications of augmented humanity via technology and its consequences.

This list would not be complete without Avatar ·(2009), because of its high production values and
memorable characters. In my opinion, the last really good film at the end of the non-woke era.

I am leaving many films that deserve an honorable mention, should as the original Robocop one, Karlof's
Frankenstein, and plenty of other great films. Sadly, there are just so many movies that can make it to
    this list.

Okay, I have a lot of movies that I like. I don't know if they fall
under the "Best of All Time" but I know what I enjoyed watching and
what I re-watch from time to time.

The Sound of Music (1965) - I love this film because it reminds me of
happy memories from my childhood. Also, when I finally (as a youngster) watched it completely, paying attention and all, I remember being
surprised that it was also a story about a family fleeing from the
Nazi's. Cool movie. Sappy, perhaps, but Julie Andrews is awesome. :-)
Yes, I am aware of Christopher Plummer calling it the Sound of Mucus.
    :-)

Speed Racer (2008) - Okay, this movie didn't do well in the box office, despite my returning to see it 10 times in the theatre. What? Yeah. I
know. But, I grew up watching the Speed Racer cartoons on TV. When I
saw the movie trailer for it I thought, "That looks lame, what did
they do to my Speed Racer?" But then when I saw it, I realized what a masterpiece it was. They brought to live action the same feel and humor
of the cartoon. The attention to detail in this movie when compared to
the cartoon is just incredible. Love the movie to this day.

Pride & Prejudice (2005, Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike, Simon Woods,
Matthew Macfadyen & Donald Sutherland) - Okay, I had always heard of
this story by it's name but never read the book or watched any previous
movies based on the story. One day my wife and I were out and about and decided to just drop in and see what was playing at our local theatre.
She picked this movie, and I thought . . . okay. Whatever. Sure. This
movie now remains one of our favorites to watch. I just remember being mezmorized by the cinematography and the music. To this day, I still
LOVe the music in this movie. The acting was great and it was just a
    fun movie to watch.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) - Need I say more? Love it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017) - They used Fleetwood Mac music. I
love Fleetwood Mac. I love this movie. LOL

    That's all for now.

I am afraid I have yet to watch most Universal monster movies. I loved Frankenstain myself. "Now I know what it feels like to be God!" Still gives me the creeps. Also, the actor playing the hunchback went on to a sucessful career playing, errr, hunchbacks.

I bought a DVD pack with 50 horror classics in it. So far I think only 10 of them are actual classics, but even the B-quality ones are actually quite enjoyable. Lots of Boris and Lugosi in the pack! I feel bad for Lugosi, though, as he would have become much more of a celebrity if he hadn't had the missfortune of competing with Boris.

heh, I had forgotten about Andromeda Strain. Good catch.

Are you talking about that movie with Val Kilmer? I don't think the movie was worthy of making it to the list, but it had some awesome performances (thand the film was actually quite good)

And "Earp" came out at the same time, which I liked better.

All Japanese Godzilla films even the 60's :)

I have seen several. I don't like the newer ones as much, but they are not bad. The original Japanese version (not the US version with overdubs, but

Agreed! The Universal monster movies are classics. Sven Goolie was playing them for a while, I don't know if he still does. Where I am now we don't

I almost forgot about the "Dirty Harry" series of films, and Lord of the Rin Aliens as well. Not to forget the Lara Croft series, or the Mummy series although I wasn't much of a fan of the 3rd one. The effects were good but th storyline wasn't as good as the first two IMHO.

I assume you are talking about the most recent iteration of The Mummy, the one that got three films made. In my opinion, the third was a fine adventure movie, but not an actual The Mummy movie, if that makes any sense to you. Also, the Rick X Eve chemistry was not really there.

Okay, I have a lot of movies that I like. I don't know if they fall
under the "Best of All Time" but I know what I enjoyed watching and
what I re-watch from time to time.

The Sound of Music (1965) - I love this film because it reminds me of happy memories from my childhood. Also, when I finally (as a youngster) watched it completely, paying attention and all, I remember being surprised that it was also a story about a family fleeing from the
Nazi's. Cool movie. Sappy, perhaps, but Julie Andrews is awesome. :-)
Yes, I am aware of Christopher Plummer calling it the Sound of Mucus.
    :-)

My folks took me to see this for my Birthday. I remember being
annoyed thinking it was a "sissy" movie. I was wrong and blown away by
it! ; Happy memories for me too. :-)

I've had the pleasure of going on the "Sound of Music" tour while in Salzburg, Austria, so I've been able to visit many of the places in the movie in real life. The hostel I stayed at screened it daily, and were still doing so when I went back 6 years later.

I enjoy that movie more and more each time I see it.

I was investigating why Rachel was replaced for Eve's role in the third movie. According to some online source, she didn't want to be cast in a role that protrayed her as some 20 year old dude's mother because that would reflect badly on her own age (and her career). I don't know how true that is.

But then, in an intervew she mentioned she had scheduling conflicts and could not make it to the movie. So maybe we will never know.

To be honest, I liked her better in the first Mummy movie. I din't like her look that much in the 2nd film.

For a while, there was a cable network that showed old shows. Then
they strayed from that format. They may be back to it again. TV LAND.

Where I got it, it was on a subchannel of the local NBC affiliate.
I can't get cable TV, their boxes literally blow up on me. I was told recently by a cox tech that all cable companies are going to force streaming soon because they're losing money on renting boxes. With what they charge go figure that one out! More like Roku and Fire are killing them in offerings!

Peacock for those on Comcrap is free and there's even a link in it where your "cable box" channels appear for live tv. I already have Hulu so I added
live TV with it and FireTV. Peacock isn't supposed to work with Fire but there is a way to get it to work without cracking Fire.

I wonder if there is a way to stream MeTV from their website?

Unless it's fairly new, they don't allow streaming off their website.
They do tease you with their listing of shows however.

Here, I can only get it because it is on our cable. Now that
everything is digital, it is difficult to pull in the over the air stations from the closest TV markets. If I lived close enough to pull them in, and didn't get MeTV on cable, I would try getting a cheap
antenna and seeing if I could watch it that way.

Our cable doesn't carry it because no local channels do. No TV for Me <G>

The Sound of Music (1965) - I love this film because it reminds me

My folks took me to see this for my Birthday. I remember being

I've had the pleasure of going on the "Sound of Music" tour while in Salzburg, Austria, so I've been able to visit many of the places in the movie in real life. The hostel I stayed at screened it daily, and were still doing so when I went back 6 years later.

Wow. Nice! Have you been to the mountain where the opening scene was shot? ;-)
Julie sings "The hills are alive, with the sound of music" lol

I haven't been to the top of it, but I did see it. It's a beautiful part of the world, and from what I see, a lot of it hasn't changed much since the movie. The wall on front of the estate where Maria skips where she first goes to meet the family, the estate itself, the gargoyle like statues that the children dance around, the abbey, the church they got married in, its all still there.

The mountain they climb over to escape from Austria, in real life, would lead them towards Germany, not Switzerland!

He later did a horror movie about a serial peeping tom/killer that was very vivid and somewhat tarnished his career for people who were not as familiar with his earlier work. I have not seen that one.

Yeah, I can see where something like that could negatively affect one's career. Sounds like he crossed a line that viewers were not willing to
cross. Knowing our audience is important.

I don't know that he did anything that other directors like Stanley Kubrick
did not later do, but he was probably one of the first mainstream directors that did so. I have not seen the movie, so I don't know how bad it is. It could just be disturbing in comparison to his other works and not other
    movies in general.

    Run Lola Run (1998)

    - very high pace
    - german, but with english subtitles (surprising NOT a total
    distraction at all)
    - I found myself watching it a few times just to re-enjoy the
smooth one-take running shots mixed with animations.

On one of my Zilla DVDs they have bonus features of how they made certain scenes of the film. It was pretty interesting to say the least. For example
the city scenes where 'Zilla is demolishing buildings, they built a model
city with buildings approximately 3-4' high, and then they have a huge
fan blowing on the area where Zilla is walking and they sprinkle dust
in front of the fan so when the building(s) collapse it sort of gives it
    that dry wall dust effect.

Ocean scenes are in a huge pool with a blue background so they can dub over whatever they wish for it, like a tv weather person on the news. Was sorta
    neat to watch it.
