Im using the retronet adapter on my kaypro 2x machine, works well at 1200 baud, im also using an hxc floppy emulator in this setup, however since the terminal setup uses kermit, its limiting on BBS files I can actually get on this machine looking to see if I can overcome that problem.

I had a Kaypro when I was 13, but when I got a 386 pc three years later the kaypro was taking up major space in my room. I ended up giving it away to someone.

I did the same with my Commodore Pet. It was an all in one and weighed about 40 pounds. Sometimes I miss that green glow.

I have a Pet 2001-8 that needs the belts for the tape drive. I see there's mods to move it up to a 32k machine, butnot sure I'll get much use out of it
    to justify it.

Find you a rubber band. Haha. Mine had two 360k floppies and a cassette tape drive.

It uses the same belts as the Datasette for the Vic and C-64, so there's no need to fiddle with stretchy rubber bands

The Kapro was the first retro machine I got online, I do have a commodore 64 with an sd2iec awaiting an adapter to bring it online as well, but the C64 was my first personal computer

My first was an Atari 400 with a cassette drive, however I saved up some cash and bought a used C64 and 1581 and 1526 printer a few years later. My aunt
was a teacher and helped convince my parents to help me buy it. The
printer was not the greatest, but it was a selling point for me to sell the idea to my parents. I knew several people who had C64's, so there was a
larger varaiety of software (public domain and commercial) to try and trade.
I bought the C64 in '84, and used it up to 1990 when I bought my first PC (486DX-33 with 8mb ram and a 426mb HDD.)
