    i'm spending over 50/month on the bbs. how about you guys

    $0 - I mean... what do you have to pay for? Maybe you host it somewhere off-site? I run mine on a crappy old thinkpad chugging along in the corner of
    a room - and the new 20ForBeers project BBS on a raspberry pi.

    Sure I've paid some $$ for ANSI work and some donations... but thats about
    it.

    I don't run a BBS, but I run some services for myself and friends, and if you have to compute costs:

    * Hardware repair and replacements.
    * Networking.
    * Electricity.
    * Time.

    I take advantage of the fact I use the same computer for multiple tasks, so costs are diluted, but if the only thing you did
    with your network was serve the BBS, you'd be paying a static IP or setting a DDNS, plus the domain registration if need be,
    just for that service.

    $0? Do you not even pay for electricity to run your BBS machine? Is it solar or something? :P

    Lol... okok, I get it... yea, I guess I bought a Raspberry Pi... and assorted hardwares, but - aside from electricity and hosting and....

    jeez, I guess I'll end up putting $100-300 a year into it. :P It would be somewhere else instead of on a BBS, all in all its a fairly worthwhile hobby.
