Has anyone successfully gotten darklands to work in linux?

For the life of me, I can't get the damn thing to work. I can install it ok, but then when I try to connect to it from my bbs, it throws an error because
it puts a trailing backslash on the path to my doorfile.

ex. - I put /mystic/temp1/ for my node 1 door file location.

    It fails to find /mystic/temp1/\DOOR.SYS

I can't get the damn source to compile to even begin to consider fixing this. Hex editing the data files doesn't want to work either. Ugh...would love a hand. I can't get the dos binaries working in dosemu either :(

Have you tried specifying the drop file, not just the location?
    ie: /mystic/temp1/door.sys

Yeah, it then appends a forward slash as well as a backslash, i.e. /mystic/temp1/door.sys/\door.sys

I can't get the code to compile...but would like to fix it at some point.
    Super frustrating. :(

Wish I could help but I have the DOS version running fine on my setup.
I came up with a script that uses dosemu bash files that go between linux
    and DOS.

I'd be glad to share the info if needed, a email or find me in one of the
BBS areas on facebook. (Greg Youngblood)

Hey Greg, would love to be in touch to figure out how to get darklands
working. It's the only door giving me significant problems over here in
    dosemu.

What's your email address? Alternatively, can you email me at ryanfantus@gmail.com ? I am no longer on facebook. Thanks!

Not much I can do about gmail's filtering of inbound emails :/

Is this the email address you typically use to send emails?

I suppose optionally we can just chat via discord or IRC or something? How do you usually communicate?

    Thanks!
