AFAIK Lora 2.xx is the better version, because Lora 3 is a bit unstable (that is what I read. I tried to run it, but failed).

    Is there another version?

I hadn't heard of Lora, so no idea.

Yeah, very much the RA clone in some ways.

I remember Lora as a Maximus clone although memory fades..

I've installed Lora 2.x in the 90s, but I cannot remember if I only tested it or also ran it in production for a short time. Maybe the BBS part was a bit similar to Maximus, but I don't remember it as a clone of anything. It was an all-in one package, including BBS, tosser, BSO mailer and I guess areafix, nodelist processor, etc. I don't remember any FTN-centric soft that was that well integrated. If development hadn't stopped it would might had become as popular as Snchronet or Mystic nowadays. Maybe someone can resurrect it ;)

I think it was more of a combination of both.

Actually it was a combination of Maximus and Front Door all in one package.
