It works for me with version 0.52 on Linux (middle-click). I use
it pretty much every day this way...

I just downloaded 0.52, and am gonna compile it here shortly.
Then I have to figure out how to pull messages... I'm sure I
could use MY BBS right? Just download from the QWK menu I
    believe...

Yes, that's what I do. You'll probably want to configure things a
little (from the QWK menu), such as selecting the message areas to
    scan.

Ok, gamgee... this is my first reply with mmail. :P Had to edit the
.mmailrc, but got thru that part... don't think nano will automatically
wrap my lines, so guess I gotta think about that... (Or use 80x25
terminal.) But man, this is rad so far! mmail looks great, and seems
easy enough to...... learn. :P Because this IS different for me. Lets
see if my signature comes thru; and THEN, lets see how long it takes
me to edit out the joke part...

Appreciate you pushing me to grab mmail... I think I dig it so far!

Cool, glad you tried it and I think you'll really like it.

I quoted everything above so you can see how it looks.

I use nano also as my editor - you can configure it extensively
using the file ~/.nanorc . For wrapping you can use the "set
fill" command. Good info on this subject here:

    https://www.nano-editor.org/dist/v2.9/nanorc.5.html

(try middle-clicking that link, should open in browser). :-)

I will test the link feature - I'm using Mystic today, but it WAS a nice experience. Learning curve; also, thanks for SET FILL info about nanorc.... that helps me not have to dig. (I usually like to to just go until I hit
enter, but with mmail texts that might suck.

I do intend to use it more, I liked being able to visually see all the of messages a little better than the indexed mystic way.

The signature file didn't work, maybe it needs the entire path location to
the file. Will try again. I just entered 'signature.txt' ... I'll get it tweaked.
