    Hi all, im back.
im in the process of rebuilding my server, after the hard drive upgrade. i
ran into a bunch of problems. fortunatly i backed up my BBS folder and was able to build a new VM and extract the BBS dir back into the normal place. however i am still having DDNS issues with fredns.org and trying to get that figured out.

soooo what happend was, i bought 3 8TB drives to put in to my Dell R710
server, only to find out that the PERC 6i Raid controller card doesnt
recognise anything above 2TB drives. after a bunch of research online, i
found that even the replacement raid card wont see any drive over 6TB, and it has to have 512 byte sectoring on the disk. all new drives after 2012, use 4K sectoring which makes it not seen by the raid card. i found out that it will also not let you use just a bunch of seperate drives either.... so i had to migrate everything over to my old 2009 Mac Pro which has 8 cores. the up side is now i have 24TB of drive space ;-p . hopefully i will get the DNS stuff worked out soon. i am also upgrading my network equipment too.

    Thanks
