Hay man good to hear your around, been missing your always great posts!
Glad your around!
... A face like a wedding cake left out in the rain..
Thanks, been busy, but with lockdown in place, I'll be around a bit for several days. :)
Likewise, and also good to be here. :)

Good I'll be looking forward to reading your post on the network!

Agreed buddy!
... Love is like war: easy to begin, but very hard to stop.
Always good to chat. Ham radio is also getting a bit more use at this time. :)

Ah, something I have to start looking into for personal use and enjoyment!
You'll have to keep me up to date on your setup!
Yeah, next round of upgrades includes: Discone antenna.

Ok, so does the Discone, come with flashing lights and music with a lot
of bass in it, or is that some funky rhythm? :P Discone could be a bit like Col'n Carpenter... Disco-nnnnnnn
Currently, I have a good setup for digital voice - DMR, Fusion and D-STAR, and I've done other upgrades to my main station on VHF/UHF. HF won't be upgraded until after the house move. :)

Well morning or evening for you!
Laughing a lot of it for right now is over my head but I'll catch up sooner
then later!
But I will say all of it sounds interesting to me, thanks for the info now I
have to search your key words!
... But, He has not one redeeming vice.
Hehe, it's all good ham radio fun (21st centure style). :D
Have fun. :)

Most likely I will need a base soon as I move from sunny Florida to a place
called Lake Linden, Michigan with 1,007 people, 481 households. I'm looking
for a round 200 acres with buildings or have built. Hunting, fishing
and
no people!A
Have fun. :)
Hay thanks for the info I'm sure I'll ask more as time goes back
though.

hh, OK, well the technologies I mentioned are perfect for those who can't put up antennas. :)

I should probably break mine out... I don't have a base station,
and too cold to go out to the truck for mobile, but I have an HT
by the bed and a mag antenna that I can use for the 'closest'
repeater... Have a bigger antenna outside, but have to crack the
window to bring the cable in... Not gonna do that with 11 degree
temps and snow on the ground! LOL

Don't have D-STAR or DMR or anything...

I have to dig deep into this topic!
The good part is I will be able to put up a antenna soon as I get
where I
want to live. With 200 acres or more I'll have plenty of room.

Build up a SHARI and get on SllStar and Echolink, or go digital with a hotspot and any of the digital modes. :)

If you setup AllStar, there is a cheat's way, using DVSwitch as a
gateway between the digital modes and FM. I have that sort of setup on
my AllStar node, in addition to my native digital capabilities. :)

Yeah, I've thought of doing those, but just not what I want to spend
money on right now... Wife has her license, too, but she's not a
'chatter' - but enjoys storm chasing. So that won't help her any. :-)

It's good fun. Just been working on some major upgrades to my multimode server. :)

No, this sort of gateway will work with an FM radio. :)
