    Thanks for the welcome :-).

And a lot of thanks to Avon for his great Videos, otherwise i wouldn't have make it trough. :-)

Just let me introduce my small BBS.

I started a small Computer Museum last year in Austria for Homecomputers from 1977 to 1995. We're named Kautzner-Computer-Museum.
Our Homepage is https://kcm.or.at. We're commission free and we
are a hands on museum with all the systems up and running and ready to be
    used by the visitors.

The BBS is quite basic right now, have to tweak it her and there.

But i never know how much fun BBSing is and thats why i built one myself so
i can show visitors how computers connect in the past and that BBS are still alive :-).

    Regards and thanks

Now all you need to do is connect all the old systems up to the BBS. A ì50,000 port serial card and you'll be in business :) Although a WiModem ìwould probably be easier... you can just hitch it to an access point and it ìlooks like a modem on the serial port to the computer its attached to..

Yes, i have equipped a few of the systems now with WiFi Modems so i can
connect to the BBS. But i also want to build a Dial In with an old Laptop and
a small PBX so the visitors also can hear the typical sound when dial in with
    a modem.

The museum idea is very interesting! It looks beautiful. All
the old stuff is fine and dandy.. but do you demonstrate access
to today's BBSes with today's PCs and devices too? I can't tell
from the pic resolution, but do you have a mac or apple in the
    mix?

But i never know how much fun BBSing is and thats why i built one myself so i can show visitors how computers connect in the past and that BBS are still alive :-).

How do you demo that bbses are still alive? Do you at least
have a modern pc with some curated bbses to visit?

Hey Ogg, thanks for your questions.
    Will try to answer them.

I have bought some WiFi Modems for the retro systems to show how it was to connect with them to BBSes. For that, to get the full experience, i am about
to build an internal dial-in server with a small PBX and a older Laptop with built in Modem so one of the devices can dial in to the Network and hear the typical sound of connecting modems.

How do you demo that bbses are still alive? Do you at least have a modern
pc with some curated bbses to visit?

Yes i have an actual PC and some modern Laptops here to show how to connect with modern hardware.

Hope that answers the questions :-).

Once again.. I applaud your initiative. If there was something
like that in my community I'd love to be involved to promote/
    teach/demo, etc.

One of my ideas is to have a couple of large screens at my shop
and play recorded sessions of BBS usage.
