It is odd, the same thing happened to Meatlotion a few weeks back. (At
least I think it was meatlotion)

It was a text he typed out and for some reason mystic decided to put it
in ANSI with all the cursor control codes every where.

Although, on my system, your original message was in yellow. Why that is,
    I don't know.

It is strange. I've seen that happen a number of times and I don't know why that happens.

Some setup's don't send mail until you log off so you can edit a message before you do that. In all the cases I have seen the messages had been re-edited before sending or they were forwarded. Also, in all cases (that I saw) the signatures had pipe codes. I wonder if those pipe codes make Mystic's editor go into ansi mode and then save those messages like that. It's another one of my observations that I am not sure of.

I have no problem with ansi messages, they can look great. But not everyone is going to be able to read them depending on what is being used to read them.

Yeah, same. I don't mind them at all, but it is concerning if it's doing
it of it's own accord rather than deliberate.

Another thing I notice when I log into mystic boards, is often messages
have huge gaps in them. Almost like someone wrote a paragraph, then held
the enter key down for a page or so and wrote the next paragraph.

Do you know anything about that one? It may have been fixed, because I'm
not noticing it so much now.

I've heard that but I haven't seen it on my own setup. I've seen some posts from Mystic BBSs that just end at some point mid message. No tear or origin line but there too.. I haven't seen it in my own setup so it's just a mystery.

Do you know anything about that one? It may have been fixed, because I'm not noticing it so much now.

Hey all. Just did some more digging on this post.

So what happened was that Todd had posted it originally to the Mystic echo. I then forwarded the post to this echo as well as the bbs support and fsx admin echos. I did this from Agency running A46. You can see that in the original post as it's Agencys tearline at the bottom of Todds post.

I checked his original post to the mystic echo here at 1/100 and it's not showing as ansi in golded... so my working theory at the moment is that it was when I opted to forward the message using Mystic that for some reason it became an ansi post in the echos I forwarded it to.

    Weiredness.

    Best, Paul.

I agree, ansi message is the same as sending html

Not quite, at least I can hit "V" in Multimail to view ANSI. ;)

And ANSI is part of the BBS experience. Enjoy it. :-) If you are
BBSing, you need an ANSI viewer somewhere. MultiMail has one built in
as other mail readers of the day.

The only feature I need is either the ability to reply in ANSI and/or strip the ANSI codes before replying in Multimail, to make quoting easier.

Stripping the rest of the busted butt colour codes would be nice too. No idea ìwhat client can process them, but my copy of Sync doesn't.

Hmm, I know for QWK, you can choose to strip out the CTRL-A codes or convert them to ANSI (or keep them as is, which is more useful for QWK networking). You may be thinking of pipe codes or something else too. So many codes, at least ANSI is well supported by BBS software.
