Here in the USA our Formula One television coverage is a relay of your SkySports network programming. Every so often the commentators give the instruction to "Press the red button" on the Sky remote. What exactly doesthis button do?
The red button loads up an interactive menu system that you can get to extra information, think teletext but full hd colour with sound and
video etc.

Teletext is also a foreign concept in the US. There were limited
trials way back when but it never took off.
Teletext was a broadcast information system that used spare lines in
the video signal to send text that could be accessed with a 3 digit
page number. Each of
the 3 TV channels at the time, BBC 1, BBC 2 and ITV had their own services. Ceefax on BBC and ORACLE on ITV. ORACLE provided the service
for Channel 4 when it came along.
The interesting thing is that these signals were also captured on tape
and people are restoring the service to take a snapshot of all the
pages at the time. You can see the few pages I've done at https://teletext.nigelreed.net and look at "Teletext Pages" then pick
a date on the right side.

Oh my word, this is superb! I haven't read the whole site, does it
explain how you captured this from the tape? How was this discovered?
Mind = blown!
