    Hey there :)

I have added your node to the 1/10 HUB and you should be able to send Areafix requests to pull Usenet newsgroups that you want now.

Just a quick plea .. if you are using the gateway at 21:1/10 please ensure
you are not pulling a feed of Usenet from another system as well for the newsgroups you are linked to at 1/10

We've had some issues in recent days with a system that is taking gated
Usenet fed to it from another source and then forwarding it on to the 1/10 gateway which in turn is looping the same post back into Usenet newsgroups... it's causing much annoyance with some newsgroup moderators.

I've removed the node doing this (no doubt accidentally) from 1/10 gateway while we sort things out with them... but I just wanted to remind anyone else of this need also...

Please don't loop Usenet newsgroup content into your system from one gateway and back out again via a different gateway.

    Many thanks, Paul

In this plea,do you mean on the same bbs system as on mystic I get usenet
from 21:1/10 and sbbs io get a feed of Usenet from 1:229/426 Nick

I noticed in mystic I had 2 echos the same but the second 1 of the 2
the export to node : had no address for messagesa to go to but since deleted
the one with export to none address, I don't now if that caused the loop
    or not.

    Thank you

    Hi all,

I have a NNTP feed that I can access, what tossers or software can I use to pull from the NNTP feed and dump into Mystic for my BBS? Any direction would
    be helpful.

    Thanks,

I have my doors on Synchronet, so I use Synchronet's newslink to pull from NNTP, and I set up a QWK network between my Sync and Mystic BBS's.

Well there's a gateway available here in fsxNet that you could use if you
want to save yourself some set up pain etc. :)

Have a look at the TXT file in the infopack. The gateway at 21:1/10 can offer bi-directional packets to your BBS for gated Usenet feeds.

I am sure there are much simpler ways to do this but I have Synchronet set up on another PC in my basement which pulls the newgroups. Each of those is set
up as an echo in a private FTN network which has two nodes. The Synchronet system and my Mystic board. Works well for me.

Thanks, I'm seeing alot of that. I guess Syncronet might be my easy option at least for me to play with it.

That's what got me into Synchronet back in 2004; I had a crappy old
Windows box laying around, and with 20 minutes of tweaking was able to
get a telnettable BBS, mail server, FTP server, web server and news
server up and running. I've spent the last 16 years dealing with the
    last 10%. :)
