I wouldn't suggest using pkzip or pkunzip because its not going to be
able to handle zip files as well as the recommended archiver and default configuration. PKZIP I am assuming uses a very old ZIP format from the
DOS years which has long since been expired.

This is being returned by the execute of PKZIP so you'd probably need to see the documentation for that to get more info.
Mystic should have come with default configuration for zip using
freeware ZIP utilities.
I've replaced pkzip with Info-Zip zip 3.0 and unzip32 6.0 Hopefully that will take care of the problem, but are the original command-line configs documented anywhere for RAR & ZIP/UnZIP?

You can install the latest Mystic to a temp directory and copy "archive.dat" from the data folder to replace the one on your BBS. That will reset the defaults but make sure you don't have mystic running
when you do it.
You can also download arcs from: http://www.mysticbbs.com/downloads/w32arcs.zip
That will go along with the defaults, although I think I need to update the RAR in that collection because its old and doesn't support the
newer RAR5 format.
