• auto validation

From SHIFT838@21:4/164 to All on Mon Nov 18 04:14:42 2019
I have the auto-validation of user accounts working as a separate menu item from my main menu, provided a user of course registeres with a valid email address.

I have set the data to '20' as a standard user and the users get the level assigned but it does not change the users remaining time from 60 to 120
    minutes after the auto-validation.

is there another command I need to issue in the data or something else to get that set correctly?

Sorry, not sure how to help with your question about the time allocated, but was curious what you use for auto-validation? Is it an MPL of some kind or a custom implementation?

    Cheers,

It's part of Mystic. I created a new menu off my theme called 'validate'. I then added a command to auto-validate account and set the Hotkey to 'V'.

    For the command I use:
    -V Validate e-mail address
    set Access to S10
and the Data to 20 (20 is my normal user)

I edit the main menu whithin the theme via mystic and added a new command option of '$" for Validate account and set the command to (GO) Go to new menu then set the Data to 'validate'

Thanks! I didn't realize that functionality existed. Going to give this a try.

Not that I am aware of, I just give the new user a quick conformation msg and boot them off with instructions to log back in.

Does the time stay at 60 after they log out and back in?

yep, thats pretty much how mine is set up. I also added a little access thingy so it only shows up for those with new user access lvls. when they re-login
it is gone. saves menu space. =]

That's how I set mine up, checks access on login if they are 20 and above
they don't see the auto validation.. As for time, I never checked, but then again my new users get pretty much the same time as validated users.. In this day and age when 5 calls a week is standard for small boards like mine I
could care less if a user is online 60 minutes or 120 minutes.. LOL
