Awesome to hear! I am considering picking up either a cheap laptop or Pi 4 for a BBS. I have my BBS on an old laptop but its bulk, loud, slow, and probably eats up power. I am leaning towards a cheapo $200-300 range laptop so I have more flexibility to move it between Windows/Linux should I want to test it.

I have to get my BBS laptop out of storage and going again but I would like to do that soon(ish). I put it away temporarily because I have a crazy lack of space where I am right now.

Hey g00r00, let me know if a cloud VM slice sounds interesting to you and I'm happy to sponsor one suitable for running a BBS.

So I went to get my laptop yesterday evening and it seems to be gone. I am shocked. I have no idea how it could have got stolen (or even if it did) but its not there.

Its a shame too because I had just put at 500g SSD in it.

I might be interested. At this point its looking like somehow my laptop was stolen? Its completely gone from storage and I need to try to figure out how that happened.

So I need to pick up one of those $200-350 Walmart laptops or a Pi or find a way to get a server in the cloud somewhere

Like I said, I'm happy to sponsor a digitalocean droplet. Avon has emailed me in the past, if you'd like to get in touch he has my info. You'd be on linux, not windows, but I hardly doubt that's an issue :)

I offered him a Windows VM that only he could remote into when he was having hardware issues a couple years ago, but he never took me up on it. I'd be
happy to donate whatever OS he'd need again, but I'm still not sure he'd take me up on it. =)

Heh, now that I remember which editor I am in :)

I offered him an ArcaOS VM as well so he could develop an OS/2 port of
the software (if we are talking about Mystic here) which would be
    totally awesome! :)

Yeah it was just before I switched it over to Linux. I did a fresh install on a SSD with a dual boot Win10/Ubuntu. Its possible somehow it could have been moved, but I can't see where. There was only a little bit of space to check.

I'm going to go back and try to look around again.

No one has been able to get any version of OS/2 or Arca working with USB
sticks in a VMware for me, so that has been mostly the requirement for the
past 10 years if we want an OS/2 version again.

I need an easy way to test and develop on it and to move code quickly between systems if I need to, and I don't have that.

I'm sure I could get something working if I put some time into it, but really there might be one person who'd run the OS/2 version if that even so I am reluctant to make it a priority.

Also OS/2 API information is nearly impossible to find, and if I remember in the past I had to do a lot of bug fixes for the OS/2 compiler too because no one is using it.

Yeah...if it were me I wouldn't bother with OS/2 :P May as well try to port
it to amigaos or something at this rate.

That would work too, if there was a way to use a USB key with it or something from the host machine. If I can ever get to that point I'll poke at it and
