I just wanted to mention that as I rebuilt my development Linux system over the past few days, I upgraded to Ubuntu 18 (looked at Mint and Elementary too). I think this is the first Linux desktop installation ever that I could see myself actually using and recommending. They finally got it right!

With every Linux distro there is always a "deal breaker" for me which causes me not to recommend it, but Ubuntu 18 gave me no red flags so far...

This is a breath of fresh air because I felt that Ubuntu 16 was a big step backwards for the OS. I am actually excited to use it and to develop Mystic with it!

I was not a fan of Unity either bit they removed Unity in 18 and now they use GNOME, which I am fine with.

The GNOME version of their UI is the best of them so far. It works similarly to their Unity UI but it runs better and doesn't take over common application hotkeys like their old UI did.
