• ENCRYPTED FILES AND MORE

From Daryl Stout@VERT to ALL on Tue Aug 13 20:16:00 2019
I read in the Wiki that ssl.cert and cryptlib.key, both in \sbbs\ctrl,
are encryped with the System/Sysop password. It noted that if deleted,
they had to be recreated, and is done so when Synchronet starts up.

Yet, when I try to run SSH mode, or TLS with the Email or other
feature, I get a message something to the effect "permission denied".
I can't change the file attribute on either one, let alone delete it.

    I'm running Windows 10 32-bit. Any ideas??

On another note, I may try another browser to use the website
interface. Apparently, Google Chrome doesn't like the FTP setup, or the "Connect To Telnet" redirection that echicken's web interface has. I'm
not keen on going with Microsoft Edge, and Firefox crashed on a lot of
pages, especially with Facebook. I may try Opera instead.

Run a Command Prompt (Admin) and delete the files.

    Rob,

Run a Command Prompt (Admin) and delete the files.

Didn't realize I needed to run Command Prompt as Administrator, and to
have SBBS Control Panel closed before doing it. I was able to delete the
files from the directory, then restored a backup of them, then changed
the attiribute, turning off the read only deal. The BBS then loaded up
OK...and I hope that eliminates the error.

That explains that. The thing is, Firefox kept crashing when I was on Facebook.
