I have a question about how to add additional outbound search paths for bre and fe usining binkit. With Argus you can specify addtional paths so I can tell it where the bre and fe outbound directories are. Is there a better way to do the outbounds for these league games? It would be simpler if they would use the normal outbound of the mailer but only has lines for netmail and inbound. Bre has an outbound of bre\outbound.

I think you have it backwards. The doors need to be configured to find your BinkIT binkley/flo-style outbound directory.

Well I have been doing it backwards for years then. Any idea how to tell bre not to go to its default outbound in the bre directory? bre outbound puts it there. I dont see anything except a setting for netmail and where inbound files goe.

I imagine it's a configuration setting. It sounds like maybe you have it configure for Arc/AttachMail operation rather than Binkely-Style-Outbound (FLO)?

I guess I can move the files to the outbound directory? Seems like there should be a better way but if it works.

It's set to binkley flo. I think its only doing it with the argus mailer which doesn't like the full path put in. If I can figure out why I cant get binkit to do an outbound connect to my bre hub I think I would be good. The nodelist is configured but it never seems to be able to connect and just gives a failed message. It also doesn't appear to see the files I move over to outbound. Its going to be something stupid.

Okay... so though although the message subject is BINKIT, you're using the Argus mailer. That's news.

binkit to do an outbound connect to my bre hub I think I would be good. The nodelist is configured but it never seems to be able to connect and just gives a failed message.

    What's the error?

It also doesn't appear to see the files I move over
to outbound. Its going to be something stupid.

Well, with more information, we could help.

I was trying binkit. There is no error it sends the packets and then deletes the outbound directory. Would be easier if it said why. 8-)

AFAICT, neither exec/binkit.js or exec/load/binkp.js contain the rmdir() function call...

are you sure it is binkit and not sbbsecho that is doing this?

I recall that Radius would do that. It was mildly annoying so I manually created the commonly-used outbound dirs.

    Cheers,

Yeah its argus doing it for sure. Soon as I put the sub directories under argus it seems fine.

It was a guess really. I couldn't remember what Argus did, since I quit using it in December 2002 when I started checking out Radius. I thought Rampage (mark) ran maybe Argus but I couldn't even remember that clearly. Oops.

You might appreciate that Radius is a drop-in replacement for Argus. You can even 'drop-out' of it if you don't like it any. If I was running Windows I'd still be using Radius...

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    that clearly.

i did... i ran all three mailers of the Argus/Radius/Taurus family... i even have/had the source code for them but since i do not do delphi or winwhatever, having the source code was only for possibly porting (one of?) them to freepascal/lazarus so as to have them on other OSes besides winwhatever... that's still a WIP that is far down the TODO list these days, though...
