Wondering if someone could help me in a quick mod I'd like to make with
    the BBS --

I'd like to make it so that when a new user signs up, the random password that the BBS generates, I'd like that emailed to the user then the system
boots them back to the shuttle menu. If anyone knows how this can be done,
I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

Not so. (I did look over the site but found nothing regarding those
    titles).

Even if Rob uploaded registered software to his own BBS, I would have
written pretty much the same thing. Coupled with his message about
supporting RA which as I can tell is also abandoned software.

Unless the Software author expressly states the software is public
domain, then it is NOT public property. It's sad when an author
abandons software but they are under no obligation to make it public.
when they no longer wish to work on it. They might change their mind at
some point in the future. or not...

In any case, no one else can make the decision for the author.

Not to question Jas Hud's honesty but others might not adhere to the
truth where software ownership is concerned.

If you can't get it from the lawful owner, then you can't get it.

    That's my opinion.

Obviously you have not been watching your Mythbusters:

Episode 8: Escape From Alcatraz, Duck Quack, Stud Finder
In this episode, Jamie and Adam retrace the steps of the infamous
prisoners who escaped from Alcatraz without a trace in 1962. Although
all were presumed drowned, our mythbusters are determined to find out if
it's possible to survive the tides of the San Francisco Bay in a
homemade raft. On a less precarious, but still hilarious note, they'll
attempt to answer the age-old question: Does a duck's quack echo? And
then there's the simply unhinged notion that a stud finder can prove
whether or not human beings have been guinea pigs in mind control
    experiments. Yes, really.

No, but the Myth Busters tested this myth and busted it (it's false - a duck quack *does* echo).

So you admit that you are knowingly passing on false and incorrect
information. I thought much higher of you then that. Guess we can't trust what you say. How depressing. :)

maybe it depends on the type of duck?

Snapple should call them "Real Myths" instead. :-)

I tried testing the termite one. I didn't really notice a change in work speed. I couldn't tell if their production increased or decreased. The
stupid termites kept leaving their headphones laying all around the
place. They had no problem in signing them out. But would they sign them
back in when they were done with them. NOPE! Now I got to hire ants to
    pick up after the termites.

It is sure hard to find decent help these days...... I can tell you one
thing, those termites are NOT getting a Christmas bonus this year.

are you the guy that wrote biohazard rumors?

Yes & Bionews which is now called SyncNews -- Merlin and I did that proggy. Rumors, I did that one and had lost the archive for it when I went on
a 2 year break from BBSing. So, if anyone has the Rumors module archive that I
did up, can you send it? Thanks. =D

    Did you want;
rmrs_22.zip (by BBS: WasteLand BBS 314-978-8981 FidoNet: Trace McRae@1:100/350) dated 2/9/1998

I ftp'ed it from Vert a few weeks ago. It is under Baja Mods.
There are two others that are .exe types. rumor1.zip and rumors12.zip
those are under sbbs_3rd (party) directory.

trace is pistolgrip, that's not the archive he wanted.

i also made a rumors mod that displays several hundred thousand rumors randomly, with random colors.

    Artiken,

Thanks for the help but I actually found a copy. I've been updating the program and the user is now capable of creating unlimited rumors and edit as well.
