The drums are composed of loop samples, and midi. Everything else I
played, with the exception of the lead guitar.

I'm thinking of writing more, and redoing the vocals.

Agreed, and as I said in another post, I'll prolly redo the vocal bits.

My intent when starting that project was to lay down 5-6 acoustic
instruments, using a condenser mic, to evaluate the effects of my room's background noise. There is a DELL running in that room, and though it's
much quieter since I removed the rattle fan from my secondary video card,
it still makes noise. All in all, I was please with the _music's_
    clarity.

The cymbal sounds from that drum machine (or sampler?) aren't so hot. I'd either turn way down in the mix, remove them, or use a different cymbal sample (or drum machine). :-)

Everything else is pretty cool. :-)

I'm not really happy with the drums either, but I didn't have much in
the way of a library to choose from. Drums are one of the hardest things
for ME to come up with. I'm more inclined to create melodies I suppose.

Maybe a drum machine with real pads would help me out a bit... give me something to bang on. My studio is too small for a real drum kit.

Pads won't effect the *sound* any. You need a better sound/sample source for that. And "drum machines" don't typically involve any kind of pad (that you hit with sticks).

Well, they do in that they give me an easy way to vary the velocity of the midi note, for a bit of variety... giving it a "more realistic" sound.

Also with my abysmal timing, there would probably be a bit more "realism"
    than I would want. :-)

You need a better sound/sample source for
that. And "drum machines" don't typically involve any kind of pad (that you with sticks).

Hmm.. I recall one, a very long time ago, that had four pads on the top
that you could whack with a stick!

Of course, all this only applies to midi drums, as the audio sample loops
    are not really editable.

Yea, computer fans pick up a lot. I had one running in this one...ah it's not on my server. Anyway, yea, a sound proof room would be nice!
