    From the user end, it never mattered much to me what software was
    running (it would just take me a few minutes to remember which keys to
    hit to get to QWK and the doors). Running, Synchronet has been my
    choice (I've never gotten one into production, just tinkering at home);
    the price is in my range, and it's easy to install. It was also the
    underlying software of my preferred BBS when I first started mucking
    around. I tried WWIV a long time ago, but can't remember much about it.

    I happen to like Synchronet a lot too. But I have also had a craving for
    Mystic as well. They both have their pros and cons but when it comes down to size, I would say that Synchronet is the biggest of all. A lot of
    configuration is involved and can take up to about 2 weeks to get a
    completely fully modded system looking nice. Synchronet is updated more
    often than Mystic is but I find a hard time catching up when the updates come in rather frequently.
