If your target is a video/avi file, you probably want a Video editor, for AVI, mpeg and other outputs you'll want the proper codecs installed... I'd take a look at Kino and see if it works for you. It's about the closest thing I've fount to imovie or windows video editor. It had some rough edges last I tried it, but that was at least 18 months ago.
You should probably search for Slideshow video compiler or something, not flash... If you REALLY want flash, you could maybe find a flex template, or something.
