It has been awhile since I was on the SBBS system.
    I have a quesion.

Does anyone have any idea on how to install sbbs on a Centos box?

I have installed it on debian and Ubuntu but not Centos.
I have tried using the sbbsunix.txt file but I am getting all kind of errors. Plus i am not sure if I can use cvs command. I get the bash eoor command when
    i use the cvs command.

Cn anyone please help me out.

You probably need to install the cvs package. I don't remember if centos uses yum or apt package utilities, but in the case of apt, the command is probably 'apt-get install cvs'...yum is probably similar. Check the docs for centos.

In any case, if you can't get cvs to work, you can always download and unpack the stable version, then upgrade to the latest from the archived files on synchro.net.

Ehh.. Can you install CVS? And you might want to take a look at the Synchronet wiki instead of sbbsunix.txt. It lists in full detail the prerequisites you need to install Synchronet.

I'm sure this reply comes a bit late for the OP, but FWIW I have
installed Synchronet on Centos 5 by following sbbsunix.txt (and
following it very closely) without hitting any real snags. I didn't
look at anything on the wiki until afterward. Following that
document and not skipping any steps should still produce a usable
    install.

CentOS is a white box version of Redhat Enterprise Linux.
