Pretty sure that PiNet is dead and not worth bothering with.

SciNet is run by a guy who takes un-announced, un-explained absences but
will (probably) eventually return. The network itself is reasonably
    active.

    Hey Craig,

I am connected to both of those nets.

Frank is AWOL on SCINet - he must be occupied with something, but I'm sure he'll be back soon.

Carlos runs PiNet and I know he was busy rebuilding his system.

In the mean time, you are welcome to run a point off off my system until you get a real node number - I get both of those nets.

Oh okay. I don't know about PiNet, but I've joined SciNet this year.
Maybe an application takes a little longer there?!
SciNet also had a small outage of several days lately...

Oh okay. I don't know about PiNet, but I've joined SciNet this year.
Maybe an application takes a little longer there?!
SciNet also had a small outage of several days lately...
    But it is alive :)

PiNet app was just sent last week, I think, but the SCINet app was send back in February. It's been about 2 months, and no reply. I've resent it a couple of times.

*shrug* It is what it is.

That's nothing for Frank. He has been unreachable for more then a year in the past. Up to the point I had to block his system on my firewall, because it kept polling but wasn't picking up any mail. It seemed like his harddisk was full at the time...

    Bye, Wilfred.

Yep that would be polite... Had a chance to look the nodelist 085 and didn't see you listed. Be patient, I am sure Carlos will get to you soon. Not sure what area your are in but you could also trying getting ahold of a sysop close to you and see if he can push things along.

There's a couple of networks that advertise, but never get back to you. I sent off applications to SCINet and PiNet, and have not heard from either

    Welcome to join MetroNet.

I've sent the application to the NetMail address some time ago and also
sent it to the E-Mail address much longer ago.
But there has never been a reaction.

So, how to apply to this network?

I was able to get joined as a QWK node by contacting the QWK hub. If he is
not listed in the info pack, let me know.

Where did you send your application, perhaps it got lost in spam?

OK, I've posted something in TQWNet for Christian - hopefully he'll reply soon,

If you want to netmail me your application, I can forward it on as well.

I can give you a point address until you get a node number. Christian will probably give you a node off his EU hub when he actions your app.

There is some. It seems sporadic, like someone will ask or say something
in one of the older tech echos (ex. Commodore or Atari) and then get a good conversation going for a few days. Then it is quiet for an equal number of days before someone else gets something started.

    I enjoy it.
