Well growing up in the 70's, I don't remember them! There was that old saying if you remember the 60's you didn't experience them. Well I don't remember the 70's.. In fact from around 1975 till 1982 is pretty much a blur.. I did more then experience them! LOL

Yeah it's funny what you can recall and what gets left behind on the editors cutting floor... how far back does your memory go? I can recall stuff when I think I must have been 3-4 years of age. Just a few random memories but from
    a time before school started.

I thought my memory went way back! I can remember things that took place in Grade school, but things that took place yesterday I can't remember! Case in point I was looking through my old BBS from 1993 just before I took it down, and was reading emails, I sent an email out laying out my plans for Image BBS 2.0 when I took over programming it. Then another email saying that if I
didn't get the files soon I was going to terminate the contract. I remember NONE OF IT! I never terminated the contract nor did I ever receive the files until the Vice President of the company came to me to ask if I wanted to help finish it in 1996! I had no idea! LOL

The earliest memory I have is being in the passenger seat of a black Volkswagen

I asked my father what he drove when I was young when I was 10 or so, he told me he had a Volkswagen Beatle in 1962. I would have been 2 then.. :)

Funny what you remember. My old man was a self employed printer, mum would have to help him out if he was busy. My pram was parked next to a machine
they were using.... I managed to undo the flywheel that hung on the side and take it off... once I did I couldn't lift it, and just played dumb.

I had a female cousin who fell out of a car my mother was driving. Cousin
was about 6 years old. Mom drove around the corner, rolled down the window
and told her to 'get back in the car'. Drove off like she had just picked up the mail. Probably the best argument for seatbelts today! ;)

Similarly, one of my earliest memories is leaving the movie theater with my dad in a green car. I did see a lot of movies with my dad when I was growing up, and he said he had a green Chevrolet Vega until I was 2, when he bought another car. I seem to remember being at the dealership with him when he bought that, too..

Not just seatbelts, also child-saftey locks, and locks on windows controls. Man, I appreciate the Scion xB that I own for that reason. :D

It was a '52 Chevy. We were lucky it had a radio :-)

I had been standing on the back seat looking out the back window. When the
car cornered I fell over, hit the passenger's side door handle and the door came open.

After that, my mom had the back door handles removed.
