Last few times I was on Fidonet proper it seemed like a cesspool. I wish it wasn't that way but there are just too many holier than thous sitting around waiting to pounce on anything they can =/

It's, like, five people arguing about basically the same things all year, every
year, until they die: who is the moderator for such and such echo, who is NC, RC or whatever, a standard that works like this or that, how they should handle
nodelists and diffs and of course all the insults that follows.

Hahaha... getting connected to "the f**king Fidonet" is the next thing I have planned. :)

I am grateful for this network also!

I'm seriously thinking about de-listing my BBS from the Fidonet. There is literally nothing happening there.

That's sad. I was quite active on it in the early 90s, just before the Internet started to take off.

Do you know what other networks have a good amount of activity?

    GameNet.. :)

It's not my net but I have done quite a bit of the leg work to get it going.

It's only a few months old but has 15 or so FTN nodes and 10 or so QWK nodes and I am hoping it will grow. As the name implies it's centered around gaming but we do banter about too.

It's run by Marisa in a dedicated VPN.

    For those interested..

It's currently fairly quiet, but a friendly bunch. Just need to get more conversation happening, but it has the makings of a great net. :) Come aboard and play! :)

The only network I know of that has any activity to speak of is FSXNet. I tried
Retronet and a few others and left all of them. I also get newsgroups from Avon and that has some activity.
