    Hi

So for now the fat sandwich is up and running again. I did a badblocks
scan on the hard drive and memtest86 on the memory and all were fine. The
only other thing I can think of is it just got too hot. (We've been
having hot days here and it's in a small space with not a lot of air
    flow.)

I had to delete the TQW-Net message bases and GameNet message bases as
some of them were corrupt. Which is odd, as they have very low traffic
    (fsxnet was fine).

It's a cooler day today and I've not put it back in the cabinet so we'll
    see how it goes.

Your temps are due here tomorrow we're expecting 30+ which is much higher
than our usual low 20s for summer.

I'm glad you got it back, bummer about the files etc lost but there's always
a rescan from a HUB in most cases I guess.

Ouch, yeah it was in the 30s up here yesterday.

It's not a big deal, just not sure why it happened. So will be monitoring
it. Hopefully it was just the message bases and nothing else. I did take
a backup too, just in case.

Yes, things seem to be working ok at present.

Glad to hear you got it working again with minimal issues.

Hey, have you looked at restic?

I've just discovered it and it seems to be a pretty good backup tool.

I was using rdiff-backup previously, but I'm liking restic even more. (For a start is supports an S3 destination - and I have a QNAP running minio :)
