ravelers Canceled At Netflix After Three Seasons

There will be no fourth season for Travelers. Netflix has cancelled the
sci-fi series after three seasons. Star Eric McCormack revealed the news
    Friday via social media.

A lot of you have been asking about the possibility of a season four,
but many of you have been saying, Look, if this is it, what a moving
and surprising and profound ending it is, McCormack wrote. Well, I'm
afraid it is. Who knows what the future holds, but Travelers Program 1,
as we call it, is complete Much love from 3468 in the 21st.

Created by Brad Wright, and starring McCormack, Travelers is set
hundreds of years from now when the last surviving humans discover the
means of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people
in the 21st century. These travelers assume the lives of seemingly
random people, while secretly working as teams to perform missions in
order to save humanity from a terrible future.

The first two seasons had aired on Showcase in Canada before streaming
on Netflix, with Season 3 of the series airing exclusively on Netflix.
It premiered in Canada in October 2016 as the highest-rated new fall
series. Netflix took over last May as the exclusive first-run network
for the drama series in every territory around the world, including Canada.

MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman and
Patrick Gilmore co-star. Wright and Carrie Mudd of Peacock Alley
    Entertainment are executive producers.

I'm actually relieved. Travelers is a show that starts a bit clumsy, and
weird, but it picks up the pace and really peaks at season 2. Season 3 was a great build up to what it was, in my opinion, one of the greatest season finales in these kind of sci-fi shows,

    BEWARE: Spoilers ahead

We're so spoiled these days with so many shows, with
"happy endings" and hollywood clean and fan service writing that whenever
we're left on a cliffhanger that does not fulfill just that it becomes a _controversy_. The "Screw this, guys, I'm outta here" middle finger that the Director throws through one of the best characters of the show (before
letting him die in such a painful way), leaving everyone to drift as they please, Marcy just shattered and ready to give up anything (which she ends up doing) to be with David again, at the same time we see Philip just going bananas with all the time lines overlapping right before his eyes. And we're left with the task of having to process how screwed up this time line ended
(or maybe not, we don't really know) but that there're other time lines that ended up just fine, while others failed in such an epic way.

    Man, what a ride.

I don't want to get that feeling of disturbed closure taken away from me by a potential bad 4th season. Let's face it, the only possible story path for
that *has* to be a completely different team on a completely different time line. Anything that comes close to the original story is just going through
a "just kidding, guys, it was all a dream" kind of cliche. This is just
very thin ice to walk on. I'd prefer the creators to go after a different project, and I'll definitely watch that.

Time traveling shows / movies are a very complex thing to create (the best example being Dr. Who, of course), and Netflix has a fame of just keep
beating the dead horse, even if it's not spitting money anymore, so they
would just not really care about creating a good 4th season.

Not saying that Travelers was a dead horse, but for me, it concluded its life cycle in a very enjoyable and quite different way, and we
    should move on.

But of course, this is just my opinion, I'm one of the guys who thinks Lost should've ended by the end of season 3 ("Not Penny's boat!"), I prefer to
    leave while winning :)

Anyway, I'll wrap it up now :D

Yes it was a slow start, but towards the middle of season one it got
good. It was enough for me to keep on checking every few months to see if
a new season was comming. I watched season two during last year, and all
    of thre this year.

I heard about this today and thought it was interesting and funny.
Two programmer-musicians created an algorithm & program to create
every possible melody (via MIDI) and released it all to the public
domain to prevent musicians from being sued. I wonder if this
    will really work.

Not if the lawyers have anything to say about it!

    Ttyl :-),
