Won't do you any good. FB doesn't wait for you to sign up before they start profiling you. Your friend posts a photo and tags you in it and
And to the topic, excerpts from ""You Give Apps Sensitive Personal
Information. Then They Tell Facebook," Wall Street Journal, 22 Feb 2019:
"Millions of smartphone users confess their most intimate secrets to apps.
... Unbeknownst to them, in many cases that data is being shared with
Facebook.
"The social media giant collects intensely personal information from many popular smartphone apps just seconds after users enter it, even if the user has no connection to Facebook. ... often without any prominent or specific discolosure ... even if the end user isn't a Facebook member. ...
Flo Health Inc's Flo Period & Ovulation Tracker told Facebook when a user was having her period or informed the app of an intention to get pregnant. ... along with a unique advertising identifier that can be matched to a device or profile. ... At least six top health and fitness apps in the iOS store send potentially sensitive information immediate after it is collection."
All of this is done without informing the user or seeking the user's consent and no FB account is needed. You can close your FB account (which doesn't delete your info, just deactivates the account) but that doesn't stop FB from collecting information on you.
