    This was back in the mid-90s in a mostly Mac shop. Remember After Dark? The "Flying Toasters" screeen saver?

    That and a variety of other screen savers that were part of After Dark or After Dark 2. I remeber one of these two After Dark releases that it wss possible to combine different screen savers to "make" one of your own.

    We had tonnes of user-contributed modules in-house, entries in their contests. One that I loved was called "Work of the Weaver", and it wove known plaid patterns, all of the vertical threads, then the horizontal. It was mezmerizing to watch.

    I had the Star Trek add-in, mom was outside my bedroom window in
    the garden and heard Spock activate the communicator and say "Beam me up" -
    she never heard the screen saver before and looked up to the sky thinking,
    um, OK...
