If you are interested in fidonet let me know, would be happy to have a node in Kamloops in net 153.

Welcome! I'm glad you made it.
I quoted all of the kludge lines, just in case you were interested. :)

Welcome Kamloops! Kelowna here!
Right on! I've seen Penticton and Kelowna so far, that's great!
So long as one of you guys can point me to a nearby diner that does a good burger I'm happy too :) I kid. The petrol to get anywhere near where you live would be a killer... but the air points would be amazing..

5x9 here. Consider this your QSL. :D
Welcome! I'm glad you made it.
Thanks, it looks like it's getting around, dirty message! ;-)
I'm pretty pleased that the setup has gone as smoothly as it has - FTN stuff in Synchronet's
all new to me, so it's been interesting stepping through things. Half decent documentation is
so incredibly valuable!
Thanks again for getting me setup so quickly and smoothly. Everything's been great so far!
If you *ever* find yourself in this part of the world, drop by and I'll make sure we bring in someone to cater a burger event just for you!
A couple years ago, when Paul was in the US, I think he flew over my house. I tried waving, but he was busy reading the SkyMall magazine... ;)

But think of all the great exercise getting here by rowboat would give!
It was the in-flight free drinks cart.. the hostess was passing by at the time.. sorry :)
We all get around... Wait, that didn't sound any better... ;)
Just so that you, and everyone knows, I am running a gateway between FTN and QWK networking. Right now, fsxNet is available via QWK as well. :)
In all honesty, it's not always that quick... :) I just happened to be at the computer when Paul sent your application over. We do try to have nodes set up within 24 hours. Sometimes that's needed because of the time differences. :)
Just wait for the time travel jokes to start creeping into the conversations. It can get pretty funny. :)

While that may be true, I'm not telling stories at this time. heh!
That's interesting - I haven't yet figured out why Synchro developed the QWK networking bits.
I mean, it's there, it does it's thing, but it just replicates what FTN already does, no?
Free drinks? I'm flying with the wrong carrier :)
Show them your BBS sysop business card, or a USR Courier modem, and they'll send drinks your way even while taxiing!
I think it's a remnant from dial-up days, but there are still a fair number of people who use it. Even Mystic has QWK networking capabilities. (Not as a

I wonder when the 'networking' bit of QWK came to be, though... Back
in the day, I remember
QWK was for offline message reading/responding, but I never heard of it being a
way of
networking BBS systems together until I read about Synchro doing it.
Maybe it was there quite
some time ago and I just missed getting familiar with any system that utilized it. *shrug*
