That's awesome! Is that the old text adventure games? Or something else?

Yes, the text adventures -- or as Infocom called them "interactive fiction".

Again, lots of good memories surrounding those! I think there was one
called Impossible Mission on my friend's VIC20. I remember we would
just type the first three letters of the commands, so take bucket would
be tak buc or get buc, etc. There was a part where you had to push buttons
in a specific order and another friend was there trying it out.

I have to pause at this part and say that I live in the South - in a
small town of less than 500.

So, he type mas but. We couldn't figure out what he meant, so he said,
    "mash button, of course." :-)

yeah, I remember some of them! I also found a link to where you can
get several of them for iOS, but then it says "not available in
    the US store... :-(

Activision contracted a third-party developer to produce an Infocom release for iOS for $10. It was hands-down the best UI I've ever had
for Infocom stuff. Unfortunately, when iOS 11 dropped support for
32-bit apps, Activision did not choose to update the app. I still keep
my old iPad 2 around just to play it, but it's no longer available in
    the app store.

    Ah - understood - thanks.

My wife has a Pi in her classroom. One of the parents bought it to
"play around with" and donated it to her when he lost interest. :-)
She's teaching block coding and things like that, so it's cool to
    have for the kids.

Gotta admit - earlier today when I saw the name of your BBS the first thing that popped into my mind was the antagonist from The Road Warrior (Mad
    Max II). :-)

Impossible Mission wasn't actually Infocom. It was published by a UK firm called Adventure International for the C64 and VIC20. I've never played it,
as I've never owned a Commodore machine.

However, if you're interested I have the original Adventure, all the Infocom, Scott Adams, Brian Howarth and sundry classic text adventures running on my site -- over 100 games in all.

    Ah, never thought of that.

I run the Web's largest CP/M software repository, which I call The
*HUMONGOUS* CP/M Software Archives." When I put up my site it was with the intention of setting up a Remote CP/M BBS site so people could see what a
real CP/M BBS site looked like -- hence the name, *HUMONGOUS*.

The RCP/M isn't up yet, but I am working on it.

You mean Impossible Mission? AFAICT, this is the same game as Scott Adams' "Mission Impossible", aka "Secret Mission", which I have on my board. Log in, go to Doors, and select "[SA] Adams and Howarth". It's the second entry in
the second column, "[SM] Secret Mission".

If that's not the one you're looking for, My Abandonware has an entry for an "Impossible Mission" and downloads for the C64, VIC20 and PC-88 versions.
