Running Mystic A42. Here's my event list.

Active Type Description Time Days -----------------------------------------------------------
    Yes Interval Poll echomail 01:00
No Interval Poll QWK networks 03:00
Yes Semaphore Send outbound echomail N/A
No Semaphore Send QWK network mail N/A
No Semaphore Send Hatched Files N/A
Yes Semaphore Toss incoming echomail N/A
Yes Shell Weekly maintanence 04:00 -M-----
No IP Blocked Firewall Ban Win Vista+ N/A
No IP Blocked Firewall Ban Linux N/A

My active events except Weekly maintenance are all set Yes for every day. Shouldn't their Days columns show SMTWFS instead of blank?

No, the other active events you have are either time based ie Poll echomail every hour, everyday. Or they're semaphore which will look in the semaphore folder for a certain file to activate the event, regardless of what day it is.

No, they shouldn't. Interval events trigger every time interval, the days
have nothing to do with it. Semaphore events execute when a semaphore
exists, days and time have nothing to do with it.

I'm not getting it. If the days have nothing to do with it, then why can I
    set days?

My Poll echomail event is set to type Interval, Exec Hour 1, Exec Min 0 SMTWRFS. I assume this means "1:00 AM every day", and that if I disable, say, Sat-Sun it would mean "1 AM weekdays only".

Conversely, Weekly maintenance is Type Shell Exec Hour 4 Exec Min 0, M only, which I assume means "4AM every Monday".

    Have I misconstrued things?

BBS and Shell events work the way you described, where you define a time and day.

Interval events trigger based on an interval of time ie "every X minutes".
Days are not a factor in that event type as its an event type based on an interval of time.

Semaphore events do not use time or days at all, they just wait for semaphore files to exist and execute when they do.

Ah, OK. Sorry, just to make sure I understand:

For BBS and Shell events "Hour Exec: 2 Min Exe: 30" means "2:30AM". For Interval events it means "every 2.5 hours", and the Day settings on the right do nothing?

There's nothing yet on the wiki on events.

Yes you got it! Interval events are executed based on an interval of time, so 2 hours and 30 minutes means it runs every 2 hours and 30 minutes.

For BBS and Shell events "Hour Exec: 2 Min Exe: 30" means "2:30AM".

Yes, that would execute at 2:30am on whatever days you've selected.
